Step 1. Register Required: Your e-mail address. You must have an e-mail address to register with E-trustee. This is required as a login name and for secure communications with E-trustee. If you don’t have an e-mail address you can register one for free at many websites, including www.hotmail.com and www.yahoo.com. Personal details. Your personal details such as name and address are required. To register click “Register/Login” in the E-trustee menu on the left side of the screen. You must complete all the compulsory boxes in our registration form and agree to our terms and conditions. If you plan to be both a contractor and an owner for different transactions please register as a contractor. To begin any job transaction you have to be registered. You can set up a job with an unregistered person but they must register to access the job. Step 2. Set up a job Required: Job details. E-mail address of owner (other party). The Job can either be set up by you or by the Owner. - Login, this will take you to your personal job page
- Select “Create New Job”
- Enter the e-mail address of the owner and select the role you will be in the transaction, “Contractor”. You can be both an owner and contractor in different jobs.
- Enter the details of the Job
• Enter the total cost for the job (payment + E-trustee fee) • Enter who is paying the E-trustee fee • Enter details of the actual work to be completed • Enter contract details recommended by E-trustee in our Contract Library Once a job is set up it will appear in both members personal job pages with a "Pending" job status. Step 3. Both members agree to conditions - Once you agree to the total cost, who is paying the fee and Contract/Job description you can tick the “Contractor Agrees” check box.
- Click “Save and e-mail for approval”- this e-mails the job to the owner.
- Once sent to the owner, they can either agree without making any amendments or make amendments then agree.
• If the owner agrees without making any amendments the job status is advanced to "Approved" and continues on to step 4 in the process “Owner pays E-trustee”. • If the owner amends the total cost, fee detail or Contract/Job description your approval will be removed as the conditions have changed. They will then save and send the job back to you for approval. The job status remains "Pending" until both members agree.
Step 4. Owner pays E-trustee
The owner must pay the total cost (payment + E-trustee fee) into the premium or standard trust account. You will be notified by e-mail and the job status will advance to "Payment Received" in both members job pages when the payment has cleared in appropriate the trust account. If you are covering part of, or the entire E-trustee fee you will be sent a receipt. Step 5. Contractor completes the job You are now required to complete the job agreed to in the Contract/Job description. Step 6. Owner agrees the job has been completed Once the owner agrees the job has been completed the job status will advance to "Admin Pending". Then within two working days the payment will be transferred into the bank account nominated in your personal details and the job status will be confirmed as "Closed".
